Wisconsin Shuts Out Burlington

The Timber Rattlers got a first inning home run from Brett Lawrie and that would prove to be all they would need Michael Bowman, Daniel Meadows (pictured) and Jim Henderson combined on a three hit shutout en route to a sereis opening victory over the Burlington Bees. Lawrie finished the night 3 for 4 and knocked in Sean McCraw in the fifth for the Rattler's other run. Erik Miller added a pair of hits and Cutter Dykstra singled for Wisconsin. Meadows pitched four no hit innings, striking out four to get the win, and Henderson notched his seventh save of the season.

Rattlers Swept By Lugnuts

The Timber Rattlers were hurt by some early errors on Monday afternoon en route to being swept at home by the Lansing Lugnuts. Lansing scored three in the first, aided by a fielding error by Jose Duran and a throwing error by Brock Kjeldgaard. Wisconsin got one back in the bottom of the first on Kjeldgaard's RBI groundout which scored Erik Miller (pictured). The game stayed 3-1 until the fifth. Mike Marseco and Sean McCraw recorded back to back singles and then Miller belted his first home run of the year to left field to give the T-Rats a 4-3 lead. Lansing however would answer back with two in the sixth and one in the seventh off of Cody Adams, and Wisconsin could do no more, falling by a final of 6-4. Miller and Corey Kemp led the way with two hits apiece for the Rattlers who will start a three game series with Burlington on Tuesday night.
Late Rally Falls Short

Despite four hits each from Brett Lawrie (pictured) and Juan Sanchez, the Rattlers came up on the short end against the Lugnuts on Sunday afternoon. Wisconsin fell behind early, as starter Efrain Nieves gave up six runs, five earned in 4 1/3 innings of work. The T-Rats trailed 8-3 going into the bottom of the eighth but tried to mount a comeback as Mike Marseco singled to center to score Corey Kemp. The Rattlers then got three straight singles in the ninth by Sanchez, Lawrie and Brock Kjeldgaard and Kemp drew a one out walk to score Sanchez. A wild pitch scored Lawrie, but Kjeldgaard was thrown out at the plate on another wild pitch and the Rattlers wouldn't score again, dropping their second straight against Lansing. The two team will face off again on Monday afternoon at 12:05.

T-Rats Fall to Lugnuts

The Rattlers dropped the opening game of their series with the Lansing Lugnuts on Saturday night at Fox Cities Stadium. The T-Rats struck for three runs in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. Juan Sanchez singles to lead off the inning. Brett Lawrie was then hit by a pitch and both came around to score on a double to center by Corey Kemp (pictured). Brock Kjeldgaard then lofted a fly ball to left to score Kemp. Lansing though would put up five runs in the sixth and never looks back. Trey Watten started and took the loss for Wisconsin, allowing 6 runs in 5 1/3 innings. Kris Dabrowiecki continued to struggle in relief, allowing three runs as well. The series continues tomorrow as the two teams face off in a 1:05 contest.

Rattlers Defeat Loons

The Rattlers took the rubber match of their series with Great Lakes on Friday night, topping the Loons 6-4. The Rattlers scored two in the third as Jose Duran (pictured) tripled to start the inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Sean McCraw. Mike Marseco then doubled and Cutter Dykstra and Juan Sanchez followed with back to back singles to score Marseco. Great Lakes struck for a run in the fourth but Wisconsin got the run right back in their half of the fourth. Corey Kemp doubled and moved to third on a wild pitch, then came in to score when Duran grounded into a fielder's choice. The Rattlers then added three more runs in the sixth. Sanchez singled, and Kemp and Brock Kjeldgaard walked to load the bases. Duran then singled to score Sanchez and Kemp and Kjeldgaard came home on another Great Lakes wild pitch. Daniel Meadows worked 3 2/3 innings for Wisconsin to pick up the win and Jim Henderson recorded his sixth save of the season. The Lansing Lugnuts come to town on Saturday for a three games series starting at 6:35.

Despite a huge night from Brock Kjeldgaard (pictured), the Rattlers fell to the Loons on Thursday night by a score of 9-6. Michael Bowman started and took the loss for the T-Rats. Kjeldgaard went 3 for 3 with two doubles and his third home run of the season to boost his average to .222 on the season. Erik Miller was also on base three times, with a hit and a pair of walks but it wasn't enough as the Rattlers dropped the second game of their series.

T-Rats Get Back on Winning Track

The Rattlers got back home and got back to their winning ways on Wednesday night. The team fell behind, giving up two runs in the first, but after singles by Juan Sanchez and Brett Lawrie (pictured), Corey Kemp smacked his first home run of the season to put Wisconsin on top 3-2. They tacked on another run in the third when Sanchez scored on an RBI double by Lawrie. Cutter Dykstra then came across to score on a Kemp sac fly in the fifth to go up 5-3. The T-Rats added one more insurance run in the sixth for the 6-3 final. The two teams square off again tomorrow night at 6:35 at Fox Cities Stadium.
Rattlers Fall to Quad Cities

The Rattlers dropped another game to Quad Cities on Tuesday night, losing by a score of 4 to 2. The River Bandits went on top with three runs in the third. The Rattlers finally fought back with a run in the seventh when Brock Kjeldgaard led off with a single and scored on a triple by Michael Vass (pictured). Quad Cities scored again in the bottom of the seventh to go up 4-1. Wisconsin scratched out another run in the eighth when Erik Miller scored on a Kjeldgaard sacrifice fly, but that would be it for the scoring as the Rattlers dropped the series finale. Wisconsin returns home for a series with Great Lakes starting Wednesday night.

The Rattlers dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Monday. Wisconsin was done in by a three run fifth inning in game one, falling 4-2. Mike Marseco (pictured) went 1-3 with a double and a run scored, and Corey Kemp also added a double and an RBI. The pitching staff fell apart in game two, allowing 17 runs on 13 hits. Brett Lawrie and Marseco led the offense for the T-Rats with two hits each, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Rattlers fell 17-7.
